Any way to EASILY set Calls to vibrate/ring and Texts to silent at night?

This is while I'm sleeping so I can be woken up by a phone call at 3am in an emergency, but not by a friend who feels like drunk-texting at the same time =)

from any screen (I think) hit the volume button down until you see the vibrate or hit it once more it will be set to silent

....Well, yes, but I'm asking for a "mixture" of the two. Able to hear/feel calls, but not notifications, without going all the way to the menu every time.

Im not quite sure what your asking... As I understand it your asking if you can set ring for phone but silent for text? If so the "missed call" app could help with setting up ring for phone and silent with texts. Set the service for SMS on silent before you go to bed then when you wake up turn it to ring or vibrate. It takes like 4 clicks and 10sec max to switch. Sure its not an easy touch app or anything like that but it gets the job done! Ill look into seeing if there is any other apps out there that will do it faster though.

there is the bedside clock app in the market that will do this. it is a paid app, but worth it for this feature I loved on my blackberry storm. I imagine you might be able to configure a profile switching app to do this, but I have not really tried that. the bedside clock does have some minor issues like not automatically exiting when taken off the charger, but that is because for the author to implement the fixes, it would break compatibility with android 1.5 devices.

That locale thing got me thinking! Thanks BFranker! On the "missed call" app you can set numbers to it so you can easily just put your phone on silent but set those "emergency" numbers on there and have them set to ring. So while on silent only those will ring and when you don't have it on silent (like during the day), hey guess what? It will still ring! Problem----->Missed Call----->Solution
I think so haha
