I use touchdown for my calendar and email, and sync my personal calendar up with it as well. No real use for "corporate calendar." I don't use a task killer, but do have system panel. Everytime I look at it this corporate calendar shows up and is using memory. Since I don't use it I'd rather just have it not be there using up memory that could be used by something else.

stock 2.1, not rooted, droid

No not unless you root. Don't even bother killing tasks manually. It took me a while but now i don't kill anything.

If you kill the calendar it will just start up again using more resources than if you had ignored it. Apps sitting in memory don't really use battery. Cpu uses battery.
