Anyone else getting "SPAM" on their phone?

Hi all,

All of a sudden I keep getting notifications in the bar at the top of the screen. It's a green + sign. When I drag the bar down to see what it is there is a App "click to download" ranging from dating apps to games. How can I stop this? I went through all of my Apps and there is nothing out of the ordinary. I am getting 4-5 per day. Anyone have an idea how to stop this?

Thanks.

A price for the FREE apps

I get them too. I guess there is a price for the FREE apps. And No, I do not know how to get rid of them.

You need Lookout Ad Network Detector. It'll tell you what apps are causing those push ads. Then you either opt out of the ads or delete the apps causing them.

EDIT: You don't need to be rooted to use this. I'm not.

Yeah, you've downloaded an app that keeps spamming you with push notification ads. You'll have to find the offending app and uninstall it.

My friend got hit with one of these when he fell for the many fake Temple Run apps in the market before it officially launched.

Those are Airpush ads and I think they are VERY invasive & there should be some restrictions placed on them! That being said get an app called Airblocker. I just installed it on my Acer Iconia A500 Tablet...The reviews are very good & it's free...It seems to work very well. You do need to reboot after turning it on...

***NOTE*** It's for ROOTED PHONES ONLY!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys,

Thanks for the help. I downloaded the Lookout Ad as recommended and I found the culprits. My nephew downloaded a Porsche live wallpaper and also a NY Yankees wallpaper and those 2 were the apps that had Airpush.

Thanks again for the help!:icon_ banana::icon_ lala:
