I did...go figure the video format you use to record video with cannot be played on the PS3.

Anyone else run into the same problem? If so, is there a simple way or app that can save the video files in a format that can be played on a PS3?

All the other video, music, and pictures I have on my Droid X work just fine.

I havent tried anything I recorded but all Music and Videos I have play just fine.

Just found this:

PS3 & XBOX does not support the .3gp video format to play DROID X captured video via DLNA connection. You may need to download additional plug ins for your DLNA devices to play video or other content from your DROID X.

Use the same techniques your used for audio and photo play for viewing Video on other DLNA video receivers or DLNA enabled PCs or television sets.

DROID X - DLNA Application

Lame...

mp4

If you record some video with the phone and then click on the video you recorded it should tell you it's mp4. I've played plenty of mp4 videos to my ps3. I'm sure it's just a setting. I know a guy on here was trying to play avi's and that wasn't working. Looks like mp4 part 10 is the way to go...

ah that's just a mobile format. I know if you convert any file to mp4 it should work fine. The playstation 3 can't play .3gp files atleast not yet I think. If you want to convert them use this program

Free 3GP Video Converter: convert 3GP to AVI, 3GP to MP4, 3GP to MP3

Awesome, much appreciated.

The linked software defeats the idea of DLNA to some extent since it is a windows based program. Is there a program you can install it in your Droid X that converts the 3gp file into a playable format by ps3?

I doubt you'll see any video conversion apps that run on your phone. Sadly this was the first things I thought to do when I got my phone and it didn't work. I'm not sure I would have many other videos on my phone.

For some reason my DX wont show up on my 360... I have no idea why lol. I run TVersity on my PC and Laptop and both show fine on the 360. My network settings are good and the DLNA service is shared and running on the phone. I just dont see it on the 360... hrm.

I think I read in the manual that there was some kind of setting you had to turn on for it to show up in 360. I didn't look to closely since I don't have one.

Yup in the dlna program settings then check xbox should work then....sux u cant play avi tho
