Anyone who Has had a Replacement MAXX Phone

My MAXX died just before attempting to root it, so Verizon is sending me a new phone.

Those of you that have gone through this experience or otherwise can help me:
  1. Did your Unlimited Data plan carry over automatically or should I call Verizon just to be sure?
  2. Do I use a new SIM card or should I switch out the sim card from my bricked phone?

I received a Droid RAZR as a warranty replacement for my Bionic last September. I still have unlimited data. I received a new SIM card with my RAZR.

Sent from my DROID RAZR running 4.1.2

I received a "good as new" refurbished Razr Maxx to replace the defective Maxx. I had to use my original sim card (they did not send another one). No change in my unlimited plan.

Just replaced mine as well. It came with a new SIM card, but I used the existing one (along with the existing SD card). Very easy transition... and no, I did not lose my unlimited data plan.

I just received my "like new", (what a joke) phone the other day from Verizon only to put it back in the mail to yet get another "like new phone". Upon start up the phones back button was totally unresponsive. Ever after 2 FDR's. I will say in Verizons defense that at least they get the next phone to you in 2 days. One bright spot I suppose. Anyways, yeah, your plan stays the same and I used my old sim card. Hopefully your "new" phone is in working order! Lol.

If this replacement phone comes with a new sim card, does it make any difference as to which sim card I use, existing or new?

Update. Got the replacement phone to replace the bad replacement phone today, guess what...... It won't seat the sim card! Lol! Back in the mail tomorrow. Let's see if 3rd times the charm here.....

Why am I not surprised? Sorry to hear that. I forgot to mention that I also had to send back the first phone that they sent to me because it would not recognize the sim card. I hope you have better luck with the next one. I also hope you haven't sent back your original phone just yet.

I was told I have to send back my original phone within 5 days to avoid a $299 charge. I forgot to ask if that means postmarked or received. I would hope there is information provided. I'm going to make sure the replacement phone actually works prior to sending my old phone back.

How long should I charge my replacement phone prior to using it? Should it be 24 hours or wait until it's at 100% or what?

I called Verizon about the whole 5 days thing and the guy kind of chuckled and said, yeah you have like 2 months before they'll do anything, so I figured I'd be ok if it's postmarked by 5 days. The pretty much said don't sweat it.

Well this is great (not really..sarcasm doesn't transfer online very well). I received my replacement phone. It turns out that the volume up/down buttons feel just fine, but the power button doesn't seem as raised as my bricked MAXX. It still functions, though and I don't have to press it as hard. That is not a good thing, to me. Has anyone experienced this? Should I send it back for yet another replacement? I feel like I'm given an additional 90 days, but the power button might break after 91 days.

I'm still in the process of charging it up. The power button does work when I click it, indicating how much charge I do have. I'm waiting until I'm at 100% before I try to turn it on.
