Just flashed aokp jelly bean build 2. Battery life is really bad. May be the battery its self, but I'm not too sure. Plus my phone keeps saying that it's charging when it's unplugged. Other than those issues this ROM seems pretty good.

The charging when unplugged is most likely a hardware problem. Issue 23789 - android - Galaxy Nexus Charging Issues - Android - An Open Handset Alliance Project - Google Project Hosting and My Galaxy Nexus goes crazy (battery/charging issue) - xda-developers as well as many other threads discuss this problem, potential temporary fixes..etc

That problem could also be part of your battery life problem as well. When your device is plugged into a power source, or think it is, the screen comes on. So depending on how often it happens, the screen could come on multiple times while in your pocket.

Perhaps try other kernels, maybe your device doesn't like the Faux kernel that comes out.

Side note AOKP JB b3 is out now, perhaps it has something that helps you out as well (perhaps the newer Faux kernel).
