App for school closings?

Did a general search in the forums but nothing came up. Can anyone recommend a good app that shows school closings?

I don't know of any but thats a good idea with 3 kids would love to just check my phone for updates instead of just watching the news scroll for 20 minutes lol

I'm tryin to learn to dev but I would think there would be a external source that has a list of all the schools where would that be?

Don't most schools have a system in place where they send out SMS messages for delays or closings? I know they do in my area.

some do but I doubt they would give anyone access to it.

I'm unaware of any apps that do this, but our local TV station will email out closings for specific school districts if you sign up. Works pretty well.

School districts here send out automated messages via home and cell phone. It is a good idea though.

I just have a desktop short cut to the local news website, direct to the closings web page. Works for me.

Hey guys thanks for the replies, but I am well aware of how I can figure out school closings lol. I was actually asking if there was an app that does this. I am a substitute teacher, so I need to be able to check whatever district I'm going to be working at on that day. So it's not like I can just sign up to get alerts from one district... I'd have to do that for 10.

all the disctricts in the state of florida do this.

I would think it make a call to a server or at least a source. In our case a server that updates with all the info per day.

I wish our schools would do SMS for delays and closing. Of course here in lower delaware, its the land that time has forgot. I have to use my web browser and go to our local tv station for the list of closings (so i don't have to wait for the scrolling on TV)
