App stuck installing.....for days

I went to the Market and downloaded an app(Live Hold'em) and it downloaded fine and then went to the installing mode....it never stopped. I did not think much about it but several days later the program is not installed on my phone and still shows ...installing in the Market Downloads section. I can't cancel it nor can I figure out a way to make it go away. I am not sure what it is doing to my phone. I have shut down the phone and have done a few battery pulls with no success. Help....

Sure thing. Settings/applications/Manage applications/all applications/Market and clear cache and data. That should fix it.

Settings - apps - manage apps - all - Market Force Stop. Go back out of setting and open it up, see if anything has changed. If not, go back into settings, stop it again and Clear Data. See if that helps. I've had a program get stuck before, but I can cancel it and start over again.

Also, battery pulls do nothing. If you can restart it, that's enough. You'd only pull the battery if the phone was locked up and you couldn't restart.

You type too fast, or I type too slow. :-(

Great step my step instructions....unfortunately it did not work. It still shows installing in the market download section.

I did it again and made sure I cleared the Data....which is something I was not sure I hit the first time.....It worked great. Thank you

You don't get as many posts as I have by typing slow.;)

OP, glad to hear it's working.

This happens to me once in a while. All I do is cancel the download. from the market page. Then start (restart) the install/update.

The only time this did not work immediately was the last update to Beautiful Widgets, I had to wait a couple of hours; I think there might have been too many simultaneous requests for this update.

Do not give up.

I've got this same problem - installing "Listen."

I got to "Settings/applications/Manage applications/all applications/Market and clear cache" But that didn't work. There is no "clear data." There is a "Force close" button, but touching it does seem to work. Button briefly turns yellow, but it doesn't do anything. Please help!

Go to the market and PRESS AND HOLD onto the application that is downloading and you should get a popup that will allow you to cancel the download. Its happened to me one time and thats what fixed it for me. I hope this helps.

I cleared cache, then cleared data and this did not solve it. It will not let me choose Force Stop, it won't even light up that option!

Go into settings/applications/manage applications..locate the app and you" should" be able to un install it or remove the update. That worked for google maps on my friends phone which was stuck updating. Hope it works
