I often have a lot of apps opened by day's end. Is there an app that will reboot the phone on a time schedule?

I would imagine you would have to be rooted for this to work.

I can't be of help with a scheduled reboot app though. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dread7us.reboot.scheduler <-- that looks to achieve it (does require root). Perhaps tasker can accomplish this?

Tasker can do it. If you're rooted and have busybox installed, you can cron it.
