App to Remote Control Droid

Is there an app to control a droid remotely? Like RDP in windows. I would like to be able and utilize my apps and watch for notifications on my PC during the day. (respond to texts, listen for incoming calls, etc).

If your phone is rooted, there is android screencast. it's not really "remote", you have to have it plugged in via usb, plus its not real responsive, like 4-5 fps
