App to remove grid on main screen?

To be more specific, is there an application out there that can remove the grid/snap to grid feature on the main screens so you may freely put your application icons anywhere?

I could of sworn I seen the app. somewhere but maybe that was just me.

Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Your looking for what I would imagine to be a user interface or UI. I haven't seen anything of the liking yet, because if i had, i'm pretty sure i would have installed it, lol. But if anyone knows of one, that would be awesome.
