So i'm running Kangerade flawlessly for awhile now. But I did notice that whenever i reboot the phone all the apps that i install on the SDcard disappear from the app drawer and if i have a shortcut on the main screen for it the icon goes away and i get the generic green/white android icon. anyone know why its doing this? I do have app2sd turned on but seems the icons shouldnt disappear. I'm just tired of having to go into market...search for the app open it like that then it reappears

You just need to wait. The phone boots and loads the launcher before it has mounted the SD Card so to the phone, those apps are missing.

Wait a few minutes then check back......your apps should be showing in the app drawer. If it's an app you need as soon as the phone boots, move it to the phone and off the SD card.

Also, if you have widgets that don't reload and don't show up in the widgets menu after reboot, you might need to install the app on the phone vs. sd card. Ran into this with Beautiful Widgets.

Don't think ANY widgets are supported in apps2sd yet. Launcher pro just added a feature where they all return quickly after reboot.

U can always restart your launcher to reload them too.

What launcher are you running? Stock, LauncherPro, ADWLauncher ??

On earlier versions of LauncherPro I had to "restart launcherpro" from it's menus before they would show up.

I have this same problem. I just upgraded to Froyo (build FRG01B) and the icons will change to the green/white icon. The programs still launch but it is ugly on the screen seeing multiples like that. Additionally, I have the same problem where programs disappear off the program tray, though I verified that they were installed.

To fix this (at least for now - it could happen again, I don't know), I removed all the shortcuts that were having issues, then rebooted the phone. I found that the programs came back to the menu and I put the shortcuts back on the screens.

are you running a non-stock launcher? if so just hit menu and preferences and restart launcher. Works just fine for me all the green/white icons went away and turned back into the real icons and everything in the app try showed back up

Originally, yes, I was running the stock launcher. The reboot and replacement worked for awhile.

I now have ADWLauncher and it's happening again. It's almost as if the icons are not pre-caching in to the phone's memory and can't associate the icons anymore after a restart or after a FC of a random program - almost like back in the day w/ Win98/ME when you had the Active Desktop 'white screen' and Windows couldn't load your wallpaper.

So it seems it happens (to me at least) w/ both stock AND 3rd party

Having the same issue with my rooted FRG22D Droid1 with no theme, but with Launcher Pro Plus. The apps on the SD reappear, but with no distinctive time. Even after restarting Launcher Pro Plus multiple times, the apps won't show. What's more annoying and problematic is that it went let me install any apps before the other "missing" apps finally repopulate, which I have have no control over. And since my Titanium Backup is on the Sd card, thus "missing", I can't even restore my apps. Hope this bug is fixed soon.

generic icon issue

Wondering if anyone else has seen this issue and if there is a fix.

I'm runnining Launcher Pro on Moto Droid1.
On some of my home screens I use folders with similar apps in them.

When I reboot, some of my sdcard installed apps show up with the generic droid icon and I've been restarting launcher pro and that brings them back.

However, when you go into one of the folders I have none of THOSE sdcard installed apps icons come back. They are still stuck on generic droid-face.

Anyone else see this? Any ideas how to fix?

Thanks!

menu>preferences>restart launcher pro

Hmmm weird. I had always been going into
MENU>SETTINGS>APPS>MANAGE APPS and restarting Launcher Pro that way.

Didnt know it was in the menu there.

Now, another question, since we all have to do this fairly regularly, any change of there being a widget for that function somewhere? Or buildable?

Thanks Tallica!
