Apps not downloading (Starting Download Hang)

I went to update some apps today and none would download. Anything I try to download just hangs with an empty bar that says Starting Download. What can I do to fix this? I've logged into talk on my phone, tried force closing the market, clearing the cache, etc. what else can I do?

Did you try clearing the market data? or it could just be a problem with your rom

my rom? i was rooted for like a few hours lol, but i went back to stock 2.1. anyways i went and did a backup, wipe, restore, and everythings fine now.

Ive had this problem occasionally, I just stopped them and tried it again like an hour later.

clear market data worked great-thanks

i had several download and update problems and i joined the forum just to say thanks

i tried to clear the cache, i downloaded couple of apps suggested on the web

tried to uninstall

nothing worked till i went to settings, apps, all, market, clear data
now works fine
may have lost my auto search for updates but i imagine my apps will let me know or i can always check on my favs
