Yesterday some pretty exciting news dropped regarding the unreleased HTC One! The AT&T variant received root and its bootloader has been unlocked! This is exciting since many in the dev community were saying that it would be impossible to unlock the bootloader of the HTC One as well as the Samsung Galaxy S4. It is being reported that previous methods have worked on a few devices that happened to slip out of AT&T stores a week before release. It also appears that AT&T has in no way tried to block the HTCdev method of unlocking the bootloader. However the sad fact is that HTC may have this all patched up before the phone actually releases. So for those lucky few that were able to get the device before the release they should have the ability to unlock and root if they jump on the ball now. The rest of us may have to wait for another method. Then again this is nothing new for Verizon users since Verizon tends to lock down devices that no other carrier will.
