I don't really care what he knows about AT&T or why he dislikes them. It's a link to a couple of petitions for if you want to voice your opinion on the merger. Which was your first point again? Oh yeah "it's pointless"....How original! Maybe he should read an AT&T wiki & maybe you should stop trolling an activist.
Here's my problem with his post and your responses so far.
opinion: Noun; a personal belief or judgment that is not founded on proof or certainty.
Opinions should never be used in an activist demonstration or arguments. They are unsustainable over the period of time needed to affect change in the situation being discussed.
petition: Noun; a formal message requesting something that is submitted to an authority.
Under US federal, state and local laws, a petition can only affect change when it comes to government proceedings that involve a vote involving the public.
Since the general populous of the US will not be voting on this issue, a petition has no ability to affect this outcome. And, in fact, is a detriment to the cause of affecting change in the possible outcome of this process. A person that signs any of those petitions might believe that is all they need to do and then do nothing else. That can't be further from the truth.
So in a very large sense, the only troll so far is the original poster for stating incorrect facts, baseless opinions and creating a situation that has no favorable outcome to the cause stated.
Now if you want to affect change, there is a much better path which requires very little time and has the maximum potential to stop this merger.
A vote of no confidence in both the current management and board of directors of AT&T can halt this buyout. It is the only way at present that someone, outside of the governing bodies that will evaluate this buyout, can force the issue in a meaningful and long lasting way.
My first and second post were spot on accurate and factual. Your responses so far, as well as the original post, are much closer to internets definition of trolling.
