Audio for Navigation

Sometimes the audio in Maps Navigation is difficult to understand. Is there a way to get the audio repeated or to have the audio played whenever I want it to? thanks

i want to change the default voice because it sounds pretty creepy but there hasn't been an option for that. Sucks!

Should be soon, at least that's what I've heard.

It's a really fast monotone voice, but if you slow it down, it helps.

Settings>Text-to-speech>enable Always use my settings>Speech rate

There's not much can be done due to the text-to-speech synthesis that they use. If you really want to change voices, the app would have to use a library of sound clips. IMO one TTS voice sounds pretty much like the rest.

its not so much the voice used, i can deal with that, but i would like to know if there is a way to play the audio at will, whenever i want to know whats ahead. thanks

Yea? D/l drivesafe.ly and listen to that voice :) See if it sounds the same..<g>

We use "Mandy" on our Tomtom, and she will repeat the last instruction if you hit the right place on the screen. With our laptop and MS S&T it is "Gladys", as we are always glad that she got us there!

The Droid nav voice is not very good and needs work big time. First street from house is Lummi Drive. Droid calls it Loomie Drive.
