Is any body else having problems with gmail account? i have two and both keep giving me authentication error.
this is the 3rd time in a week. so far it keeps fixing on its own but its VERY annoying :( what could be causing it?
the first time i went as far as removing the main email account so i could maybe start over...i wasnt able to add it back for 2 days...until it just all of a sudden allowed me to.

The only thing I've found regarding authentication in Gmail is the following found in another thread:
Update:
Turns out I needed to do the unlock CAPTCHA thing:
Google
accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha

EDIT: I see now what happened... The link was supposed to be https://www.google.com/accounts/UnlockCaptcha, but for some reason it got truncated as you see above. Thanks for the corrected link, penut_gallery!

Give it a shot and let us know. ;)

Thanks.

AWESOME!! Glad to be of service. The invoice will arrive in your mail in 2-3 business days. I take Visa, MC, AMEX, but no Discover... Personal checks are also not accepted. (Just kidding)

Tax payers have bailed out the banks which issue the credit cards so, imho, it's no joke!

btw, I've looked for this unlock CAPTCHA thing and am not finding it. I don't have any authentication errors, I'm just nosey. :) Is it under Gmail>Menu>More>Settings>your gmail acct. Because I'm not finding it there.

yeah i couldnt find it either so i did what i always do...google is awesome...
i pasted >google [FONT=Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif]accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha< in the search bar and it gave me some results where i could find the solution to my ongoing problem. a month of frustration was fixed in few minutes :)
all thanks to FoxKat:) my hero:) and Google...which technically caused the problem...

just want to share my frustration with this whole thing: i have 2 gmail accounts. one is synced with chrome(main) and the other i use with firefox. both r synced with my rzr. about a month ago i started getting the authentication error messages but only for the main account. kinda annoying but they would go away on their own. didnt know what was going on. then i found about the unlockcaptcha thing which led me to discover the 2 step verification. so after doing the unlockcaptch for few days i decided that the solution to my authentication error problem was the the 2 step verification. which was already activated but not set up for my android. i decided to surrender to google and set it up. that had to be cause for the error message, right? i followed all the steps, got the app for android, granted accesses to whatever i had to, accepted whatever it wanted me to, generated codes for access on my android all day and never got to connect to my main gmail account. it might have been easier to get into Fort Knox than my own email account at that point. the other gmail account kept working without a glitch. finally i turned off the 2 step verification. i didnt want it in the first place. im a simple girl. my Android never leaves my field of vision therefore i know where it is and who if anybody ever tries to use it. whats the point of verifying something, twice! if i cant get in to it? now it works great:) no error messages so far...
google used to b soo simple...
