Auto-correct was off by default on my new D4. I was so glad that I could enable it again.
Also having it on in keyboard mode helps, the D1 didn't have it then.
However, I came across a weird behavior when typing:
If I want to type "auto-correct" the cursor will jump backwards in front of the "-" while typing.
So I have to hit delete, the arrow right and then keep typing so I won't end up with "autocorrect"
