Auto-Synced Files

So my goal is to be able to work on a text file which is stored in "the cloud" somewhere but be able to have it sync locally to my tablet so I can work with it offline. The cloud can include anything from sftp, ftp, S3, SpiderOak, etc but I would prefer to avoid DropBox.

Is there anything that fits the bill or is this just something I'd have to handle manually?
