Most likely upgrading to a Droid X next week and would like to know the best way to backup and restore everything over to my new phone. Do I lose the apps I have on the Droid and have to pay for them again for the new Droid X? I use spritebackup now to backup everything to the memory card so maybe just take it out and put it in the Droid X and restore? Then again what about the apps that I have purchased in the past? I just need some clarification and understanding on a couple of these issues please.

Thanks

Backup

I use mybackup pro. See RerWare, LLC: Android Backup and BlackBerry Backup - MyBackup Pro

Worked for me. Also the market should keep track of your installed apps.

No problems.

Not use but you may be able to copy data on your SD card to your computer then back to your X.

No! Your apps are associated with your Google account and will transfer to your X.
