Here's another story from late Friday. It looks like there is a bit more light at the end of the tunnel for Samsung regarding the United States ban on sales of the Galaxy Nexus. Bloomberg reports that the ban was temporarily lifted by a U.S. Court of Appeals late Friday. The ban will stay lifted until Apple can get some newly requested information to the judge on July 12th of this week.

Luckily, by then it will likely be a non-issue, as this will buy Samsung and Google just enough time to get their "software patch" workaround going on the device. Perhaps that old saying is true, "It's always darkest just before the dawn."

As always, we will keep you informed as more details emerge.

Nice. I won't be temporarily pausing my disgust with Apple, the Patent System, or inept judges though. The root causes of this are still working at maximum capacity.

I initially did not have any impulse to respond to how ridiculous this ban was and just how poor the judgement is of the US patent office was to grant this patent, but something just occurred to me. Back in the days before Google became THE search engine to search for whatever you needed, it was common for me to go through several different search engines to find stuff i wanted. I performed this often...until i came across a search engine named Dogpile. To anyone that may have heard of this search engine, it is a multisearch engine that used various accesses to multiple different search engines at once. Hmm, how similar this sounds to the horribly vague patent granted to Apple when this concept was in place for a long time already.
