Since you're having the screen on a lot more than normal, it's going to drain pretty dramatically even when plugged in. I turned my brightness down a bit until I let myself get my usage back to normal and that seems to help.
Also make sure to try out the new charger, see if it has any affect.
I was having a charger problem as well. I used the one that came with my bluetooth. Had it plugged in most of the afternoon then I played with it for a few minutes (ok an hour) and noticed the battery was down to 30%. It turns out that charger just doesn't work. The Nexus is a little bit 'picky'. But it works just fine with the HTC branded charger that came with my wife's Incredible and also my Moto branded car charger.
Also important to remember that your phone has no idea what percentage it's really at today, it'll be a little better at judging it's % after tonights full charge.
