When going on long trips, it seems a waste to own a phone that is damn-near a laptop and have a separate music player. The only downfall is whether the battery life can compete. Has anyone tried a long-term battery drain down, using the music player through headphones? I can see myself using this at work, or if I go on a plane. I would imagine that in airplane mode, the battery would last significantly longer. just curious if anyone has tried it.

I'm curious too... seems like it would be just like an ipod touch with the phone on airplane mode

I listened to pandora on mine pretty much the whole time I was at work from 8 to 5 minus an hour lunch and my battery was down to 15% when I finally went to bed. Pretty decent IMO.

Perfect video for you. I think the battery while playing music lasts pretty good. Some app music players actually connect to the network when playing to find info about songs to so gotta watch out for that. I have actually started to use my droid as a mp3 in my car a lot now. Especially since you can take calls through the car stereo if its connected :). Verryyy cool feature.

music lifesaver

I used to use my ipod in the car connected to my lighter, but if i needed the navigation on my old phone the battery would die instantly so i had to umplug the ipod to charge my phone... I have the car charger and it makes my trips sooo much better! Cant wait to get the car mount so i can be totally hands free!

I have the 12v adapter now in my car...but I ran Pandora all the way to Wheeling Wv, from my house and back without the charger.at least 4 hrs...and Pandora is way better than an Mp3..because you get new songs all the time.
