Battery Life went into the toilet over the weekend - Nothing Changed

OK...this is not about the crappy battery life of the Droid. I have been running rooted FRG22D since P3 placed it on his forum. I use the stock kernel overclocked to 800. I usually have about 70% of my battery life remaining when I plug in at night. I charge it on the wall charger every night. I use AppKiller sporodically only to kill certian apps I use very seldomly that I know once started will pull data from the network that I don't care to have pulled. I do not use it to randomly shut down apps. And sicne I installed FRG22D I've not used it once.

I'm very good about maintaining my battery charge state.

But Friday I noticed I was getting run down to about 50% by noon time. 30% left when I plugged in at night. Saturday it was about the same. Sunday it ran out of battery power on me twice. I assumed I was using it more cuz my nephews were over visiting and both had Android phones and we were kind of showing off to each other. But today I came to work with 100% battery at 7am. By 10:30 I had a dead battery. I pulled it out of my pocket once to check my calendar and that was it.

I checked my sync frequency to see if that I was not pulling mail from my exchange server unnecesairly. It is set for sync every 15 minutes...always has been.

I'm thinking of un-rooting and taking the phone into Verizon to see if it is defunct or if the battery has just crapped out. But before I do that what else should I look for?

Well stock Frito bites the big one. But so far battery life looks better.

Weird thing. The battery was charging for an hour and a half and it got to 15% before it allowed me to mount the SD card. As soon as I booted after flashing the stock frg22 the battery indicator jumped to 50%. But after that it took several hours to get to 70% . Something is not right with this thing.

What I do know is this things needs to be rooted. This is the slowest most sluggish thing I have ever used.

Every once in a while mine does that kind of thing. Did it before rooting and after. Just take the battery out and reboot it. It will be good for a long time. I think it's some program running in the background and looping.

did you check settings>about phone>battery use to see what was pulling on your battery? i've heard of this happening alot when they try to push out updates to ppl who have them blocked or just won't hit the update button.

I have done several battery pulls. Actually a simple power down and back up does make. It improve speed for about 20 minutes.

Since I was running FRG22D I Ddont think Vs it trying to push me an update and I have certianly not blocked any update.

I ordered a new battery but I am seriously thinking this Droid has bit the dust.

Alrighty then. After posting the last response I decided to follow the latest advice and do one more battery pull. Put it back on the charger until about 6;40 am. It is now 8:30 am and the battery indicator still says 100%. I can pull up webpages lickidy split. Email app is quicker than I remember the rooted 800 OC setup being. Quadrant score of 789 is lower than I got with the 800 OC, but looks like it flys through the test faster. Linpack score of 8.? doesn't look good. But performance wise this thing is smokin right now. Completely stock.

I'll keep an eye on it throughout the day. I'm not completely convinced it is fixed. But it sure is looking better now than it was.
