Battery quickly drops after full charge

Hey all

So i am new to android, I just purchased the Droid X and I have been very happy with it thus far. There is just one issue pertaining to the battery that I can't seem to clear up. I usually charge the phone while its off till 100% and then take it off, turn it on, and then within 5 or 10 minutes, it drops to 90%. This continued to happen after the .604 update, and I am beginning to wonder if I have a defective battery, or maybe my charging practices are no good. The battery usually lasts the better part of a day with moderate use.

I don't leave it on the charger overnight, and I only charge when the phone is around 5 or 10%, and thus far, I have only charged it while the phone is off.

Any tips?

Charge it overnight. Use it till it dies. Charge it overnight. Repeat
3 times. Battery misuse .......

mine barely gets through a morning of standby on wifi w/ wifi sleep off before being at ~50% battery. Not even using it.

I run no widgets. 1 weather app. Bluetooth & GPS off.
