battery wont charge in bootloader mode

with my phone in bootloader mode is there any other options of chargeing the battery? i have a d2g and need the battery to charge so that i can flash it, is there a way of direct wiring the charger to the battery and would this work?

You can get a developers cable or an external battery charger

I've heard of somebody that hard wired the cable to the batt, not sure how

External battery chargers are like $4 on eBay
