Best app to improve picture quality?

I really love the stock camera. What problems are you having?
Camera 360 is pretty good since you're looking for a good photography app.

I can get good pics about 50% of the time. I try to hold real still and tap screen to focus. I'm just hoping there is an app that works better than the built in one.

I've been using camera ZOOM EX and it makes a big difference. The main thing is that it focuses before taking the picture rather than using the "continuous" autofocus. It also has a stability test mode, which won't fire the shutter until the camera has been stable for a given period of time. How stable you have to hold it and how long is user controlable (low/med/high sensitivity and .5/1/2 sec). Using the stability shooting mode I get significantly better photos than I do with the default camera app, even when I manually pre-focus and try to hold it stable it's just not as good.

Here's a sample photo with that app:

Mind you this was on a very windy day where I had trouble holding the camera stable enough for the stability mode to even let me take a photo.

This is the best photo I've taken with the camera so far, and it was with the default app, however it was also not horribly windy at the time.

Edit: I also just noticed I had the JPEG quality set to only 85% on the photo I took with the zoom ex camera app, which made it half the size of the default camera's photos. You can set it up to 100% which I have now done and I'll try to get a better quality photo to post tomorrow.

I bought zoom fx when I had the Bionic since I prefer to take pictures in under 7 seconds.

But now I actually prefer stock and auto zoom.

I just tried out camera zoom fx on the Nexus and it's faster than the Bionic but still way slower than stock. Picture quality about the same.

same picture quality isn't worth sacrificing shutter lag to me. You mind posting some pics of comparing the two? Problem I find with the other comparison is that they're two different pics and one of them has the sun almost directly shining into it.

Stock vs. Camera Zoom

Keep in mind I took these pictures fast. Didn't have time to fiddle around (had family with). I'm also sick so holding the camera steady wasn't easy... Keep in mind the pictures were taken within 30 seconds of each other. Also that is my wife's minivan with the nose on it. Don't blame the nose on me :)

This one is the Stock Camera..
