I am currently looking for a news reader application and an IM client. My requirements are that the news reader supports authenticated feeds (so Google Reader clients do not work) and IM is integrated into the system, so it doesn't stick a separate icon into the status bar automatically starts on boot and supports at least Gtalk and AIM.
At the moment, I am using IM+ and looking at Pulse Reader. IM+ is not integrated enough and Pulse interface makes me gag, so any suggestions are appreciated.
