I'm using Cyanogenmod 7 and I can easily push 10 hours off of the stock battery. Another option that is more fun is MIUI, paired with IncrediKernal(?). Hope this helps!

Thanks for the tip. I just bought the droid incredible online to replace my OG moto Droid until the new phones come out and wasn't sure which roms to try first. I loved MIUI on my droid as well as GB. I'm glad I can work with a few custom roms... I refuse to use stock. Did you find MIUI stable? I had a problem from time to time with it just not running well on my original droid.
