best rom

im still alittle new to this root but a rom is like a os and there are themes for that os but some roms are buggy?? I have blur I love it but my nav. dont work. but whats the best rom for a droid x

i personally would say that Darkslide 4.2 is but thats my opinion although ive tried all of them and lexlite 2.8 coming in a close 2nd. dancedroid

yep very smooth but as with any rom you are gonna have a few bugs, but all developers do a wonderful job in what they do for us. just to me darkslide has the least bugs.

ok thats done. so I boot recovery? should I clear cahe befor I install from zip?

The best thing to do is read what the developer of your rom says as they are different but i will say just make sure you make a backup

Yep i tried 1.5 it was good but to me Darkslide is more stable, but like i say thats my opinion.
 
That is the magic I think with ROM's and Androids....you can find your own flavor which is awesome.

Its all personal preference...you have to try out different ones until you find whats right for you. With that said, the most popular rom seems to be Liberty 1.5. Its what i run and i absolutely love it. Tons of options for themes, very stable, just a great rom. And the devs are on top of it.
 
Definitely try Liberty 1.5 first. A very user friendly rom if you've never used a rom before, one of the best if not the best also. It includes themeing option in it's own toolbox.
