Best rooted wifi app

Any reason why wifi signal strength goes weak to strong when the phone is rt by me?

I downloaded the app but when I try to press install it will not respond. It will only respond to cancel. I have tried downloading different versions with the same issue. What am i doing wrong? I do not have this issue with my X and yes i have "install from unknown sources" checked.

FoxFi beta will get you tethering without rooting your phone. It's claim to fame is 'your provider will not see that your tethered'. We will see.

tried it all

ok, so i have the razr maxx rooted running .173. i have used sqeditor and changed line 150 to show the value of 0. i also have the newest wifi tether app, but im having problems connecting to my laptops. it seems to connect to my thunderbolt regularly however even when connected to my tbolt my laptop will not connect. i have tried many different combos nothing seems to let me connect the laptop the first time everytime. everyonce in a blue moon my laptop will connect, usually while running the wifi tether app as a droid bionic then while its up and running going into settings and change it to the razr, it restates and then i might b able to get it connected my laptop. this doesnt work all the time maybe 25%, but i do it cuz its ther only thing thats working now. anyone ............. help

I was in on the original thread about this app. So far as I can tell at the moment it should be app of the century, but the people that have been running this app the longest haven't been running it long so we'll see. If somehow it ends up on my verizon bill that will just be an annoyance, a charge I didn't authorize that they have no argument for, and a month I'll have to ration my bandwidth on some devices until I can save that same $30 to pick up a cheap belken router for my LAN in the house. It does have a weird bug that sometimes pops up when you close it that says "hotspot not opened by fifox, do you want to close?" which is kinda freaky. I mean is this some VooDoo app that the devs let out of a jar and even they don't know how it works? LOL.

Well, I used it this past month a few times. Not a lot, but a few times. Enough so that if I was going to be charged, I would have been. I wasn't. However, if you go over board, like this one guy said in another post, I'm sure that they would catch you. He stated that he was using it 20-30GB per month. For that much, he should be paying the dang $30 per month.

Im using about 15gb per month of data. But most of that is from streaming music on my phone using the XiiaLive app.
