Hey all, I'm new here so I hope you don't mind. I'm greatly looking forward to the Droid X and I've been doing plenty of research as it will be my first Droid. My main e-mail currently is an @optonline.net address, and I wanted to know the best way to configure that with the Droid X. I've read about re-routing through G-Mail, and I want to configure this in a way that gives me the best performance. For example, maybe the Droid X would parse G-Mail e-mails instantly while instead it would wait to push any outside POP3 accounts? If that's the case then I'd be happy to re-route through G-Mail to get the better performance. Please let me know! I thank you all for your help :).

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff, I am also waiting on the X, but they gave me a Droid for the last two weeks to use. I am coming over from AT&T and have had PALM for the last 10 - 15 years. I found out that the Gmail client is way to slow for updating pop emails, so I am using the email on the phone and put my pop accounts in this way. I also have it syncing every 15 mins. Seems to be working fine.
Thanks
Geoff

Emails won't delete from server on POP3

I truly hope I am missing something and that they didn't remove this functionality altogether...

When I delete an email off of the Droid X (from my primary POP3 account which is NOT a gmail account), and then even go to the trash folder and empty it, the emails are still not being removed from the server.

Any advice?
