Beware scam going around!

Huge scam going around you all should be aware of. A mass spam of texts was sent out to Verizon Wireless customers from a third party company saying your Verizon Wireless login is going to expire. It gives you a bogus website to go to something to the effect of verizonaccount.is-the-boss.com. This is not a verizon wireless website. DO NOT LOGIN!

things people will do; thanks good looking out glad you posted it. I would not have logged on but I know to look out for it.

The key here is to use common sense. I'm sorry but no major company will ever text you... haha. Most companies won't even email you.

When you first activate your Droid, Verizon sends you a text. So that's not entirely true.

Really people! Do I need to add extreme details to anything I say. In both of those instances, yes, VZW does send you a text (although the 160char one wont happen if you use Handcent and set it to send up to 3 separate messages if it happens to be that long). What I meant was simply that VZW doesn't text you with anything after the initial set-up regarding your account in any capacity.

every time you pay your bill or send more then a 160 char text they send you a text.
But they NEVER send you a text asking you to login somewhere. Again, common sense.

Actually this is in correct. After 180 days of your pix place login not being used you will be asked if you want to keep your current pictures in your online album, that you need to login. This is a pretty common occurrence. That is why this third party company chose to use the "login" as a way to get peoples account information.

Where was this posted at? or did you get the text yourself?

There was an email sent out at the SLC call center. Apparently there have been numerous calls coming in. I have received three myself, however I have not received the actual text message.

Pretty amazing how clueless people can be with these BS scams. The OP is what, 10 years old?

No I am 23 years old. I work for Verizon Wireless, and thought it would be a great bit of information for people to be aware of. Due to the fact that there have been numerous people that have logged in I figured I would share the information. I was trying to watch out for my droid brothers and sisters. Thanks for the insult thought.
