Bionic and OTA updates

History:

I have a Bionic I bought on the day of the big release. I rooted it the next week. Then on the 23rd of OCT I went to a custom ROM, [R3]Blurr3d. Recently I changed to the Kin3tx rom. I have never approved the install of a single OTA update. Still stock as far as I know. Before going to the custom roms I backed up my stock rom.

The Questions:
I am thinking about returning to the stock rom and taking any OTA updates. What should I do to make backup copies of the updates? Would these updates be of any use to the community? If I take the updates what do I need to do to ensure I don't loose my root access? I want to go back to Kin3tx when I am done.

I am also thinking about running Safe Strap to be able to boot the original rom and Kin3tx as my daily wear. How do you guys like Safe Strap?

Thanks in advance.
