Bionic bootstrapper shows up after recent ota update?

Hello all, sorry for the noob-ness... but here it goes. Bought razr and rooted to get hotspot. The next morning the ota update came out. I installed it, and everything went just fine (guess I'm un rooted now?). Hotspot still worked, but after getting my hands on the unlimited data/tether/hotspot today, I guess thats irrelevant. So my question is... what is this bootstrapper that showed up, how did it get there, and can I delete it without screwing up my phone? I haven't slept in 3 days and I've finally got everything set the way I want. Don't wanna have to start over.... thanks for any help!

You probably have had the bootstrapper since you rooted, you just didn't notice it. You're supposed to Keep it. Click bootstrap recovery and then reboot recovery. This will reboot the phone in clockworkmod recovery mode... Make backups and if something goes wrong recover with it.

Thanks for your reply. I never installed the bootstrapper, just the SQL editor needed to root. So boot strapper is good? I hate I don't have time right now to research all of this. I thought I read people had problems removing it, so I hvmt touched it lol.

Also it's called Bionic Bootstrapper instead of RAZR booostrapper only because it was made to work for RAZR by modifying one for bionic. It is a must have backup/restore tool for root users.

That is not true at all, you have to download Bootstrapper. Rooting gives you the SuperUser and BusyBox, not Bootstrapper.

All one click rooting methods(at least ones I've used) include installation of bootstrapper. That must be what happened with OP and that's what I meant.

I used Doomlords one click method on my Razr and it didn't install Bootstrapper, same for any method I used on my Droid Pro and Droid X didn't install Bootstrapper. OP what did you use to root your phone?

You tube how to root Droid razr, should be the first option fro. A guy that's name starts with a z. He also has a few other vids. Bootstrapper didn't show up until the ota... I know this because I don't think I put my phone down all night lol. I was just worried because I didn't know what it was. So should I use it? Got the razr dialed in now.... want it to stay like this.

I'm telling you all I DID NOT install this.... it showed up immediately after the ota update. Should i remove it?

I never had to install bootstrapper myself..For both Incredible and RAZR. I remember when I was rooting the RAZR , the command prompt said something like "sending zerglings..." so I'm assuming it was the zergling rush or whatever method.(I don't know this well though.) Then it said "installing bootstrapper..."or something like that. Both times I rooted my phones when the rooting was done bootstrapper was already on my phone.
