Black Screen when running camera apps

For some reason when I try to run an app that uses the camera, for example scan2pdf or barcode scanner all I get is a black screen. I have to reboot to be able to use my camera. After rebooting I can use the camera, but if I try to run one of the apps it goes black again. Like the camera lens is not working.

Has anyone had the same problem?
