How can i transfer my contacts from my blackberry to my INC . Desktop manager wont recognize my INC .Wonder how they planed to do it at the store they said they would've had to reformat my memory card and that was not possible with all the stuff i had on it.

I came from a BB but also used Outlook for contacts and email so was able to sync with Outlook. I don't know if windows mail works as well?

You should sync your phone with google with a gmail account. Trust me, it saved me a load of time.

Google Sync for your phone

Once you sync it with google, you can transfer your contacts. When you sync your DI with the google account, it will automatically transfer the contacts from your gmail account to the DI.

Cool didnt even want a gmail account but the guy at verizon talked me into it .:icon_ banana: Then again he also told me that Berry desktop manager would work too. Now to check out google sync.dancedroid

Darn Ok next prob my storm in disconnected and i have no way to send a text to it which is required to get Google sync to work erm i think?

Wait its gotta be on my comp too right?

But still no service on the berry any more . Hmm ...........

Oh right, I just read on it and you apparently need text messaging along with the use of your browser under 3G.

The only solution to this particular situation would be to reactivate your storm, sync, then reactivate to the DI.

However, I am not sure if Verizon will charge an activation fee for used phones.

An alternative would be to use Outlook, I found a nice DIY here:
How-to: Export/Sync Contacts from Outlook and Import to Droid Incredible

You have to have a Gmail account to use an Android phone. This is probably why he talked you into it.

You can try HTC sync. Blackberry Desktop Manager will sync with outlook and HTC sync will sync with outlook. So you can indirectly sync blackberry with your incredible. You need to download HTC sync to your desk top and your phone (might already be on your phone). It will sync your contacts and calender but not memos or tasks.
You can also sync at the verizon store but they need a blank microsd card - you can get a small one cheap and then you will not have to reformat the one you are using.
Companion link is an application that says it will sync outlook contacts, calender, tasks and memos, but I couldn't get it to work for me. It interferred with the connection between the phone and the desktop which worked normally before I installed the program and after I uninstalled it. But it might work for you - has a 2 week free trial period.

I really don't mean to be unkind but sometimes I wonder how people go about deciding to buy phones. How can you purchase any Android device and not know it's a Google product?

Need a Gmail account to use the phone? Or do you mean to use the market?? My phone and internet worked fine before entering my Gmail account. Though, I admit, didn't try a lot else...

OK, I'll put it to you as clearly as I can. Think of your phone as part of the Google world. It's all interactive, Gmail, Google, Google Maps and Android phones.

So your goal should be to have all your contacts available on Gmail, any email accounts forwarded through gmail. It will make your experience with your Incredible more enjoyable.

You don't necessary NEED one but it is highly super omega recommended as it makes things 100x easier.

For me, I actually read up on it and sync'd all my contacts on my Windows phone to my gmail and thank god I did.
