Bluetooth Audio Skipping Issue Fix?

Hi everybody,
I've recently upgraded my car stereo to a bluetooth unit and was very disappointed to discover that my bionic is complete crap at streaming audio over A2DP: the music would skip and stutter every 10 seconds or so, making the experience unbearable. I've researched the problem and found that it was a common issue with bionics but none of the suggested fixes (such as turning off wifi and using the a2dp app) worked for me. I'm sure it's an issue with the phone's bluetooth because the stereo plays fine over bluetooth with my HTC thunderbolt and the bionic plays fine through the AUX cable.

I was wondering if any of you know if using a custom ROM would fix this issue? I am not rooted at the moment, but if rooting means fixing this issue I won't hesitate to do it.

Thank you.

I use a Jabra Cruiser with A2DP to pickup music from my bionic and transmit it to the radio. While most fm transmitters are crap, this one is very good. The streaming is flawless with no skip or stutter. I know my situation is different from yours, but I have not seen that this a 'common' problem with the bionic. This also works flawlessly for me on ICS custom roms.

Thanks for the suggestion, gs. Unfortunately using an fm transmitter takes away ability to control playback with car controls, which is what I need. Otherwise I would just use the aux jack. It does seem to be a common problem with bionic and most car Bluetooth units. Doing a quick search reveals dozens of threads with bionic owners complaining about them.
Through trial and error I have found the culprit to be the 3G connection. Whenever i'm on 4g the problem disappears and the playback is fine but in areas without 4 the stutteringins. This happens even with locally stored music so the issue seems to be interference between Bluetooth and 3g. For now turning off data in 3g areas appears to be the only working solution for me, which is hardly acceptable.

I use the Belkin Aircast, no issues with Spotify or Pandora, whether on 3g or 4g. Occasionally I have to re'pair the device, but maybe only once a week. Try a re'pair.

If you are streaming I can certainly understand why 3g v. 4g would make a difference. Do you have the stuttering when playing music stored locally on your sd-ext card? I agree that un-pairing and re-pairing would be worth a try.

No problems off SD card, that's where I store my podcasts. Also for spotify, I download playlists first in case I get no reception, but I also use the "artist radio".
