bluetooth transfer to pc

I have recently bought a bluetooth adapter for my laptop in an effort to eliminate the usb cable drama. I watched the posts and downloaded the medieval transfer program from the market. I have had trouble transfering anything except pictures from my phone to my pc. It asks if I want to use the bluetooth when I hit share so that is a no brainer. I thought I would be able to transfer music and files from my pc to my droid using the bluetooth. Am I mistaken?
