Boost Mobile to Get First Samsung Slider Phone

Sporting Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a 1GHz MSM8655 CPU, an HVGA screen, and a rumored 2 megapixel camera (we certainly hope this isn’t true), the device is most likely several months away from release yet. Samsung is still waiting on FCC approval, though both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi certifications are already in place. The phone really just seems to be held back by red tape at this point.
In what we had originally thought to be a followup to Sprint’s mid-level Transform, this device will actually be Boost Mobile’s first sliding-keyboard smartphone. We realize that many would argue that the sliding keyboard is a dying breed, but Samsung knows that there is still a loyal market for slider phones out there (here’s talking to you, Mom). It’s great to see manufacturers catering to all parties.

If the screen size is nice(I'm gonna guess 3.7", though) and that 2mp camera isn't true (come on.. it should at least be 5mp, if not 8) then this will be a nice addition for boost mobile and people like me who are fans of keyboards still. Seems like a smart move.
