boot loop

my friend has a droid X and he had clockwork recovery and he tried to flash CM7. hes now boot looped and he asked me for help and i am asking you guys for help. i can get the phone into boot loader and the i cant get to recovery its not there. what should i do?

And if you get into bootloader but you loose all data
