Bricked HTC Droid Incredible

I've got a seemingly bricked rooted HTC Droid Incredible(it's stuck on the "HTC Incredible" white screen) and was hoping to follow the instructions here to restore it: How to get back to complete stock from s-off and 2.2
I'm stuck, though, on the SD card formatting step. I'm pretty sure before my phone bricked the SD card was recognized automatically by Windows whenever I plugged in the phone. That's not the case now, so I'm not sure how to go about formatting it. Is there a way, or is my phone a goner?

Okay, got the adapter. While backing up the current contents of my SD card I noticed the clockworkmod backup I made awhile ago. Since I never saw a clockwork recovery screen I didn't think the backup worked. Before I format my SD card is there any way I can boot from the backup image? I did a quick search but didn't find a way to boot from a clockworkmod backup any way other than through the clockwork mod recovery screen.
