Calendar app drains battery

After two weeks my Droid battery suddenly started draining very quickly. it would go from 100% at 7:00am to 40% by 9:00am. It gets very warm in my pocket as well. It looks to me like the Calendar is the culprit. It is responsible for almost 60% of the battery use.

Anyone have any ideas?

I take it you must use your calendar an awful lot, because mine doesn't even show up as using any battery. But I'm not a big calendar user. Do you use if for meetings, hourly stuff, business? If so I might be able to understand but if that's not the case something else is going on.
