Is there a way I can set my right side key to take pics??...thanks....I have been checking settings, and camera functions but cant find out how

Camera Zoom FX on play store allows you to tap anywhere on the screen when taking a pic, as well as set a hardware button for taking pics. Unfortunately it is not free but works great and has several features. There may be free Camera apps that have similar features.

You can set your volume buttons or swipe actions to take pics, to zoom in, zoom out, change flash, etc. For me the easiest thing is I can touch anywhere on the screen to take a pic.

I don't have the gs3, so I'm not sure what the right side key is. I'm guessing it is the power button-wake button but I don't think you can set that as the shutter button.

I have just a Nexus, but yes that is the key is for power on / off and wake.......

Yeah, you wouldn't be able to use that as your shutter button... probably because it is too much to command the phone to take a pic without turning the screen off.

I'll repeat, the only way you're going to achieve this is with a custom ROM. A lot of them have custom settings within the stock camera app that allow you to use the power button as the shutter and the volume keys for zooming.
