Hey everyone I was wondering if someone can help me with this, I'm planning on buying a droid 3 from one of my friends but was wonndering if itt can be unlocked to tmobile before I purchase. If so is there a thread or any step by step tutorial on doing so?

Please help, I like droids and I wanna join the community!!!

thanks for all your time!!

I don't think so... Because Verizon uses a cdma network and Tmobile uses a gsm network...

The Droid 3 doesn't have a Sim card...
It has a micro sd... But that is for storage space only...

"Your phone is designed to be utilized with the pre-installed SIM card. You will need to enable international roaming AND activate your pre-installed SIM card in your phone when traveling outside of the U.S."

"The GSM and UMTS bands that are supported in Droid3 Global will not work in the United States. The GSM and UMTS bands are only able to be utilized outside the U.S. A GSM SIM card such as AT&T or T-Mobile will not operate in the U.S."

Well, that's actually untrue, the droid 3 is a world phone with a GSM sim slot and verizon will unlock the phone if you meet their usual conditions!

But.... it can't be used on tmobile or at&t networks in the us, because there is also a carrier lock which prevents the phone from using them. For the droid 2 global, team black hat has a hack to get around this, but it doesn't apply to the d3

And, even if you get round that, you would be stuck on edge for tmobile, as the radios don't support the tmobile 3g US band
