Ok so if I wanted to use a custom rom I would have to bootstrap every time I wanted to change rom? Hmm?there is no way to permanently install cwm on my phone?

There is no way to install CWM permanently.

Most custom ROMs (CM7, MIUI, to name a few) come with CWM preinstalled.
