Can I customize the view in text messaging?

Is there anyway to add color to text message boxes? Like....blue for incoming...yellow for outgoing - or something like that? It seems pretty bland as it is now.

Just as with your other post about timestamps. You can either use an alternative SMS client, or if rooted, theming it is possible.
