Can I delete the update rom?

So, my curiosity finally pushed me over the edge and I rooted my Droid. I now Have JRummy's Remix installed and it's freaking awesome! No intention of ever going back over to the stock OS. I'm just wondering if I can delete that update file still on my SD card after it's installed and working. I'm really new to the rooting thing, and have never does this to any other phone. I'd rather not delete the file and then discover that my phone is bricked. Thanks!

Good job...welcome... you will soon find out that you will be nuking update.zips left and right using SPrecovery.....everything has to be named Update!!

Yes you can delete it and ill give you a good tip. Download rom manager from the market and use it to clash clockwork mod recovery (don't worry you can always go back to spr) and use it instead. It makes using update.zip installs so much easier because you don't have to rename it. And makes backing up your roms easier, basically makes everything a million times easier
