Can I get a phone (GN substitute) from ebay to keep my verizon unlimited data plan?

I have been using galaxy nexus for two years,i still like it, but it may be the time for a new phone. I want to keep my verizon unlimited data plan. anyone know if i can just get a verizon phone from ebay for this purpose?
