Can I install FlyX without deodexing?

Hey,

So under Rom Manager I see several different roms available for download one of these being FlyX

I am currently running the OTA 2.2 rooted but I have yet to deodex. Can this theme still be applied?

Also how has everyone's experience been with FlyX

Wait, are you trying to install a theme or switch roms to FlyX?

I apologize I used the wrong terminology, I meant switch ROMS

all good, just wanted to be sure. I havent tried to load up flyx from the 2.2 OTA. I know in order to run it before it required the user to have the leaked 2.2 build installed first. You also need the bootstrap rec installed. I dont think being deodexed was req.

I have the OTA 2.2 along with Bootstrap installed...I installed the Onyx concepts Black Modz no problem thats why im thinkin maybeeee the FlyX will install with no issues??

i thought flyx deodexed your system for you, not a requirement

hmm then if thats the case maybe ill switch to the FlyX Rom today, if I am correct I can make a flash of my current Rom and easily revert if needed?

edit: I just ran a current backup of my semi stock rooted RoM

so the ? is how has everyone liked the FlyX, any known bugs or issues?

Interested to see how this turns out, since I haven't seen any posts that indicate if this rom can be applied to an X running the OTA 2.2 and not the Leaked 2.2.

My only concern is that the bootloader in the OTA 2.2 is supposed to be different than the one in the OTA 2.2 right? That's why the original 2.1 sbf bricks the X when it is applied to the OTA 2.2?

I fear applying a rom to the 2.2 OTA might do the same?

very tru, especially after getting the black keyboard and black notification bar my phone is pretty much exactly how I want it

btw, did you ever get those loaded onto ur X?

installed a flyx to ota 2.2 on an X last night , used doroot to root and bootstrap to get into recovery. honestly could not pinpoint any significant advantage or disadvantage. It was nice to get a look other than stock, but as for experience, only thing i could say as it may have been a bit more smooth in / out of apps
